You might be a little confused by the title of this article.

There are high chances that a question is arising in your mind which goes something like, “What the hell this guy is talking about, how can a cartoon character teach us about life and its learnings?”

Well, believe me, once you get to know about this anime character and apply his traits in actual life, there will be a cure to many of your extreme problems.

It’s been not a long time since I watched Demonslayer. (Demonslayer is the anime which I’m talking about. It has a one-season consisting of twenty-six episodes & a movie).

Tanjiro Kamado is the character who has impressed me. Soon after finishing Demonslayer, I realized that some splendid habits performed by him are easy to follow yet very effective. And I eagerly wanted to share it with people.

But before reaching up to all those amazing points,I want to tell you that it’s completely okay if you don’t like watching anime and also I am not motivating you to watch Demon Slayers. That’s what the entire point of writing this article is. I wanted to share my observation with readers so that you don’t miss out such knowlegable values and things out there.

Okay enough talking and chit-chats, let’s get on the track.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

Kamado Tanjiro is a normal teen who lives up at the hill, which is somewhat far from the city's main market.

As an elder brother, he goes to the market(to sell charcoal) to earn money so that he can take good care of his family. Every day was going smoothly until one day he sensed something. His entire family was eaten by a demon as he was coming back from the market. The only one who survived the attack of a demon was his little sister, Nezuko. She has been transformed into a demon and no one knows the secret of converting a demon into a human again.

This is the start of Tanjiro’s journey from watching his family die to become a demon-slayer(the one who kills demons).

Let’s learn from Tanjiro Kamado.

HE HAS HIS EYES FOCUSSED ONLY ON ONE GOAL

Tanjiro has seen a lot of struggle in his life. And despite the fact, there is no one in his life who cares about him, he has been successful in maintaining his eyes on just one goal, that is, to turn his little demon sister into a human again.

He is doing everything that he can. He is talking to masters, fighting with demons, searching for clues, and whatnot. In short, he has a fire in his eyes to finish off the task he left his home for.

And I am just so much moved and inspired by this unmoving blazing fire.

Let’s imagine this — You wake up every day keeping that fire in your eyes and unleash your full potential to achieve what you want to. Quick and wondrous results will knock at our door, right?

HE GIVES SIGNALS TO HIS SUBCONSCIOUS MIND

This is my favorite part about him. He keeps talking to himself, not in an ordinary manner but in a manner of showing courage. Confusing? Let me explain to you.

He speaks to himself while he is in the most stressful situations. For example, fighting against demons.

The scientific explanation of this trick used by Tanjiro is that he gives constant explanation and signals to his subconscious mind that he is alright and no matter what happens he will overcome this. He says this phrase often, “I can do this, I’ve got this ”. It makes him more powerful and calm on the other hand.

Watch this video of him saying “I can do it” in the extreme situation:

So the key point here is to say something which relaxes your mind while your adrenaline is too high. The easiest ones are —

“I am comfortable and calm in this situation”.

“I am going to overcome this, no matter what happens.”

“I am amazing and I clearly know how to handle this situation.”

My favorite one — “ Everything is alright.”

HE IS HUNGRY

He is hungry for skills.

The thing about Tanjiro is that he wants to master everything.

He doesn’t want just to learn the skills but master them. This characteristic makes him more close to perfection.

Here, the only difference between Tanjiro and us is the desire to learn and master an art.

What we often do is that we acquire a skill and forget about reflecting and implementing it.

Tanjiro is the exact opposite of us. He acquires skill and tries to master it. And if we think about it, it’s not even that hard. We can perform the second skill given above to achieve this one.

We can say to our subconscious mind that, “Hey! I want to learn this skill and become a master at it. And no matter if the tornado comes and hits me, I am gonna become great at it.”

TOTAL CONCENTRATION BREATHING

Total Concentration Breathing is a fiction art, and I completely agree that a normal person cannot perform this. But I have molded it in the form that it would be easy for you to follow it along the day.

In the Demonslayer, it is shown that breathing is the only thing that makes a person go mad in distressed situations.

And yes, that’s true.

So the learning is to save your breath. Concentrate on every breath you take. It may sound fiction to you, but whenever you are in suppose, dangerous times, focus on your breathing. Try to calm it and you will find the solution.

You can also use the second technique which is to send a signal to your subconscious mind that, “My breathing is normal and calm, and this situation is normal. My breathing stops me to overreact.”
